Meet the team
We are made up of a central programme team and regional staff, dedicated to hearing from local contexts across England.
An introduction to the National Centre for Family Hubs
The National Centre for Family Hubs was launched in May 2021 as a major national initiative led by the Anna Freud Centre in collaboration with the Early Intervention Foundation and funded by the Department for Education.
The National Centre for Family Hubs has been established to champion Family Hubs by sharing best practice on evidence-based service models to Family Hub providers across England, to ensure all children have the same chances – a positive start in life from the very youngest age.
Bringing together current knowledge on what works for families, the National Centre for Family Hubs will also be listening to what families say they want from Family Hubs.
As well as local stakeholders, the National Centre for Family Hubs includes a regional structure, which exists to support local areas with Family Hub implementation. This comprises a team of regional coordinators who engage and consult locally. They will disseminate expertise and iterative learning from best practice on Family Hubs, host local events including regular action learning sets, and will be a conduit for supporting local authorities and other stakeholders. Regional working complements national working, with regional coordinators responding in an agile way to regional context and need.
Our approach is to share evidence and good practice. We are collecting examples of how local areas are implementing and delivering Family Hubs. We are interested in telling stories of those who are innovating and learning about how to effectively deliver Family Hubs.
A key part of our offer is the Implementation Toolkit: a collection of new, evidence-based resources aimed to support those who are planning to implement and deliver family hubs in their local area. This toolkit has been coproduced, is adaptable to different contexts and will grow with learning.
We are proud to be partnering with Early Intervention Foundation (EIF) as our evidence partner. EIF is an independent research charity who champion and support evidence-based approaches to early intervention designed to improve the lives of children, young people and families.
